Brecken Pant - Plus Size Hiking & Travel Pants

First of all, the 18 booty fit is exactly as promised. I’m a size 18/2X with 50.5” hips and I carry most of my junk in the rear (although I do have a pouch to the front too). These slipped on and hugged in just the right way, with a gentle stretch to the fabric and nice seam details. The extra stretchy band at the waist ensured no gaping at all, and the pants themselves are made from a quick dry feel fabric that is stretchy and light but still feels durable. I’m obsessed. I will absolutely recommend Thicket pants to others—and will buy again. Thank you for thoughtfully designing for big women!

This is my very first online review for an article of clothing. Sure, I've purchased lots of good gear and a fair number of decent pieces of merino wool clothing from small companies over the last few years. But I've never found anything that fit as well as these pants do. I tried them on as soon as I received them. Then I did something I've never done before: I kept wearing them. Usually I throw stuff in the laundry to wash off any worrisome chemicals involved in the manufacturing process. These pants were so comfy, I just kept them on all day. A few days later, (after washing), I took them out for their first hike. Here's something else unusual that happened: I put them on, then never touched them again until I took them off for my post-hike shower. Seriously. No adjusting. The waist stayed at the waist. They fit loosely over my butt but still stayed in place at my waist. INCONCEIVABLE!!! No pulling up my pants every 20 minutes, as I've had to do with every other pair of hiking pants that I've ever tried. (And I DO mean every other pair. And there have been many.) Pockets thoughtfully placed. Fabric that feels good on the inside and the outside, dries quickly and stretches nicely. These pants are pricey, yes. But they are worth every penny. I'm so so so so so pleased with them. Thanks, Thicket ladies. You've done a very good thing.
ps I'm 5'2", so they are a little long on me and need to be hemmed. I'm guessing that someday you'll have petite and tall offerings. All in good time...

I have tried on just about every pair of hiking pants I could find in my size, and never found a pair like these. They are so perfect! They're one of the few off-the-rack pants that aren't leggings that fit me well. I have a big butt and smaller waist and usually pants are too tight across the hips if they fit in the waist, or fall off my waist if they fit in the hips. These fit perfect. I'm a size 14, booty fit, I went one size down from my regular size so they weren't loose in the legs, and I love the fit!! The fabric is magical, it's thick enough to not get ripped up when I rock scramble or brush up against scratchy desert pants, but it's stretchy enough I can move however I need to. The features like the waistband (no annoying button to dig in), pockets that are big enough to fit things, and loops for rolling up the legs are amazing. Plus, they make my butt look good. Can't wait to get these in every color!! Thank you Thicket!!

I thought I’d like these pants but I was wrong because I LOVE them.

I’m short 5’2” and love that I can roll and snap them to the perfect length.

They are so comfortable I wore them everyday for a week. Can’t wait to actually hike with them. Love the booty fit, cause it’s meaty in these thighs and tush!

The fit and fabric have been Impressive so far.Based on the way it stretches, I expected the fabric to be thinner but it’s sturdy! Blackberry bushes are overtaking Oregon trails right now and I’ve enjoyed two hikes without a scratch. My new balance running pants expose me every thorn so feeling protected was a bonus.The fit also seems to work for me. I struggle finding pants that provide coverage for ample apron parts AND stay up. So far, the waistband has been so comfortable and they stay up! I’m going to see how they do after a couple times through the wash before I invest in more pairs but right now, they are my favorite pants.

I had no idea what to expect. I just saw an ad and thought what the heck I’ll order a pair for the summer and was expecting to either return them or just add it to the stack of clothes I rarely wear. But holy cow these are so comfy! I can move around freely in them, the fit is perfect there’s no weird sagging/extra material. Plus I think they look great too. I haven’t had them long so hoping they are as durable as they feel/look. Will buy another pair just to have an extra on hand I think!

These pants fit amazingly! If you are looking at these, you know pants shopping is hard, and hiking gear is even harder. Perfect fit the first try. No weird pulling, not too tight and just have to deal because it's close enough. They just fit!

My friend who's a manager at REI has been trying to help me find a pair of hiking pants, but after 6 different styles across 4 major brands, trying each in multiple sizes... Nothing! They all fit weird--chafing, fit upper leg but not lower (or vice-versa), didn't stretch, or had weird parachuting around the crotch. Then I saw these Thicket pants in an Instagram ad.

First, the brand name is *delightful*. Plus their logo is simple and tasteful. Second, when I saw they had different cuts for different body types, I was amazed. Then when I realized they had two versions of the pants for different sensory preferences (innie/outie drawstring placement), I was *dazzled*. And when it came in a maroon color that I like? Relieved.

When they got to my house and I tried them on, I was honestly a little stunned. They fit so well! Stretchy but sturdy fabric (with a reinforced booty!). Super soft lining that isn't some weird fleece (more like a silky terry cloth). And pockets where you need them!

When my friend from REI came over the next day, he inspected them and remarked, "Wow! These are quality pants. A little heavy for the summer months, but--OH! You can cuff the legs!"

All-in-all, these are amazing pants. My only disappointment is that they don't have a wider selection of clothing types. I want shorts of these and a cute windbreaker! I hope Thicket grows to be the Torrid of outdoor gear. Y'all deserve it.

Wire these on a 4 mike hike … have yet had the chance to put them to the test as this was a very easy one … but they feel great on .. the pockets are perfectly placed and they held their stretch … off the bat I like them but we will see ..the reason for 4 stars and is I’ve not been able to really do some serious mikes and terrain in them yet …

I bought a pair in prep for a trip to Iceland, where I knew my usual leggings might not cut it for the excursions we had planned.

They fit really well and were super comfortable when they arrived, and they were just about perfect for the trip - even the day we got poured on. I ended up soaked, but my pants dried out within a few minutes.

I appreciated the button-able cuff, since I didn't have time to hem them before we left (at 5'4", they ALMOST fit without hemming) and the cuffs allowed me to roll them up and go without.

Although I bought these pants for outdoor activities, they have proven great as travel pants also! The yoga waist is super-comfortable and the pockets that zip provides good security for my phone, etc. I’ve lost some weight, so I hope they’ll come out with a size 14 soon.

Incredibly comfortable hiking pants! (Brecken boody fit 18) Completely unrestricted movement when running, walking, or sitting. These pants fare well in temperate and cold climates. I especially enjoy the button securement for rolling up the pant legs. This is perfect height for fishing from shore or fording small streams. The drawstring and elastic waist will easily replace your favorite pair of lounge pants or joggers for around the house use.
Overall I’d rate them as an excellent outdoor garment and can’t wait to explore more in them.

I waited to write this review until I was able to wear these for a while and try them with different activities. I liked them from the get go because of how they look and fit. I have worn leggings for most of my outdoor activities and I am so excited to have hiking pants that feel comfortable like leggings but are technical hiking pants. I have worn them for road trips, hikes and around the house and I have found that they are my go to pants now for my hikes. I really love how they fit. I have short legs and am able to roll up the pant legs and they stay rolled. I love that they come in different fits as we plus size folks really vary in body shape. Loving these pants!

I love that I had easy access to pockets with my backpack on! These pants have stretch a lot in the waist without having a bulky belt or straps, and yet the waistband is not irritating. They are also really sturdy but breathable!

These pants go from the trail to the office! I first tried them out hiking on the McKenzie River, then wore them the next day to my university’s Fall Breakfast. Didn’t know I’d be called to come to the stage to accept an award….but felt confident in front of 300 people!!!

Absolutely love these pants! They are so comfortable, breathable, fits my body perfect, have so many pockets, doesn't dig into my stomach, you don't have to adjust or pull up the pants after bending over, perfect length, love how you can button up to make them shorter, truly and honestly makes me feel more sexy and confident! Definitely highly recommend these pants!
